We’ve started the year with a new logo thanks to our design team and Nancy Lambrix from Lambrix Designs. They also designed our annual appeal and thank you notes that make a great statement about our organization. The Friends board is charging ahead with marketing in its effort to raise money for the Portage Senior Center. If you haven’t made your annual donation yet you can do it online right here.
Not only do we have a new look so does the Portage Senior Center. Stop by to see the new look, take a tour and meet the staff. We would love to have you!

The Culver’s fundraiser was a great time. Thank you. Thank you to everyone who cleaned tables, greeted with warm smiles and visited with patrons at Culver’s last night. Our volunteers are the best!
“The Portage Senior Center depends on annual membership dues and contributions for support. As we look ahead to a new fiscal year and its budget requirements, we see that 74% of PSC funding must be raised primarily through annual membership dues, class fees, annual contributions and grants. Meeting this challenge is something each of our members helps with when they pay their annual dues, contribute to the Annual Fund Drives, participate in fund-raisers, and volunteer. The Good News is, we have a vibrant and caring community at PSC, and no one is turned away due to inability to pay for membership. Scholarships are available. If you or someone you know is in need please contact any PSC staff member for confidential assistance.”

Thank you for your participation in and sponsorship of the Friends of the PSC Annual Golf Benefit Scramble.
A total of 50 golfers registered for the 2012 Scramble, we enjoyed exceptional weather and received many positive comments from our participants. The Friends successfully raised over $7,000 at this year’s event and it would not have been possible were it not for the wonderful support of benefactors such as you. Please know that 100% of all funds raised go toward the support of programs and services offered by the Portage Senior Center.
Because of your support, the Portage Senior Center will be able to use a portion of these funds to purchase a membership management database that will supply accurate, real-time data vital to capturing the interests and needs of our members.
Next year’s Friends of the Portage Senior Center Golf Scramble will be scheduled soon. We’ll let you know the details and we hope to see you there! Once again, thank you for your support!

Daisy Dollars are back! Purchase daisy Dollars at the PSC in denominations of $5, $10 or $20, then redeem them, dollar for dollar, from April 25 to June 23 at Schuring’s Greenhouse. Purchase flats of annuals, herbs, vegetables, specialty container gardens, hanging bags, hanging baskets as well as hardy perennials and vegetables with your Daisy Dollars and Schuring’s will donate $.25 to the PSC for every Daisy Dollar sold. It’s a great deal. Schuring’s prices are competitive in this area, so you’ll pay the same as you would elsewhere. Your Daisy Dollars can be purchased at the main desk of the Portage Senior Center with cash or check.
